Auxiliary power
1992 8 hp Yamaha outboard in well, professionally maintained every winter.

Grace has been stored under a tarp on land every winter since 1995, with her mast down. Bottom was stripped and barrier coated in 1996. No sign of blisters since.

Grace Survived Isabel without so much as a drop of water getting in below.

This is an outboard version of the IF. The outboard sits in a well in the lazarette. When removed, the well can be plugged to insure complete water-tightness and no underwater disturbances.

Grace does not have a built-in galley. Instead, there is a drop-down table for the 2-burner alcohol stove. A custom fitted teak board that stows on the head door, can span the space from the table to the foul weather locker to provide ample counter space when needed.

Water is contained in a 6-gallon jug stowed under the companionway step. There is an enclosed head consisting of a bucket with attached toilet seat. Only three thru-hull openings--the two cockpit scuppers and the old knotmeter spinner.

Like all Marieholm IFs, Grace performs superbly on all points of sail. Ease of handling is an IF trademark and is most appreciated as the wind picks up. No matter what angle of heel, the steering is easy and the ride exciting.
